Every summer for almost seven decades, the Traditional Spanish Market has taken place in Santa Fe.
Hosted by The Spanish Colonial Arts Society, will take place on the historic Santa Fe Plaza on July 27th and 28th.
During the 68th Annual Market, around 250 Spanish Colonial artists from throughout New Mexico and Southern Colorado will gather together for the magical event, bringing their beautiful woodcarving, tinwork, colcha, furniture, weavings, jewelry, pottery and much more.
For people who live locally and purchase a larger work of art, they may be able to get it back to their home if they own a minivan or SUV, or they may have to rent a truck to get the handmade piece to their house.
But for those who have purchased a large painting, item of furniture, home furnishing or other unique artwork as a gift for a loved one in another state, they may be wondering how they can get the item to them—safe and sound and in one piece.
The same is true for the hundreds of tourists who come in from around the country for the Traditional Spanish Market. While they may be able to fit handmade jewelry or a small weaving into their luggage, they will probably not be able to fly the friendly skies with a large and heavy hand-wrought piece of ironwork.
