Packing and Shipping

What You’ll Need to Ship EBay Items

August 3, 2019 by shipsafe

Pak Mail Packaging and Shipping Santa Fe New Mexico

When you shop for on eBay and your package arrives, you probably don’t notice the hard work that goes into packaging. You just tear through it to get to your item.

But now that you are on the other side, you have to be very careful about this. You need your customers to receive the product in the top condition. And for that, you need top quality packing materials to make sure that the items you are shipping don’t get damaged. Your business will receive a blow if that keeps happening.

Here are the essentials you will need to make sure that the items remain safe in transit:

1. Bubble Wrap

Popping bubble wrap is fun, but you have to resist the urge because you will need it for packing. Bubble wraps are literally a cushion of protection for the items you are shipping. The air-filled polythene makes sure that the product does not get damaged. If you are shipping delicate and fragile items, make sure that you coat a thick layer of bubble wrap and secure it with tape.

2. Air Packing Pillows

Have a small fragile item and don’t know how to stop it from rolling around the box? Easy! Place an air packing pillow inside. Air packing pillows are not only economical but also very light, so you won’t have to worry about the weight of the package.

3. Assortment of Boxes

Being a seller, you have items in every shape and size. And you need different sized boxes for them. You can get a variety of cartons from PakMail Santa Fe.

4. Plastic Bags

Plastic bags are a must-have for every eBay seller and make sure that the weather conditions don’t have a toll on the items you are shipping. They are one of the best things for waterproofing things like posters and books.

5. Wide Tape

Everyone knows about tape, but we are talking about clear and wide tape here. You will need it to make sure that the address label is stuck properly. And don’t go adding just a small strip on each side. Make sure that the entire label is covered. It will ensure that the rain won’t soak up the address label.

6. Tape Dispenser

Since you don’t have three hands, you will need assistance with the tape. A tape dispenser will do the job in minutes.

7. Styrofoam Packing Peanuts

Styrofoam peanuts make sure that your box is filled and the items in the box won’t move. They provide extra padding for your items.

Bought some amazing artwork on Canyon Road? Ship it home with PakMail

June 15, 2019 by shipsafe

Fragile – That must be Italian

You just found an amazing painting on Canyon Road, you know exactly where it’s going to go in your house and you pulled the trigger. Now what do you do?

Well, if you live out of state, you’ll likely need to ship that painting, especially if it’s a large piece. But even it’s a small piece, you probably don’t want to trust the airline with your luggage when there is a painting you’re in love with shoved inside of it. (One time flying back from Europe we saw our bags sitting on the tarmac for 15 minutes in a torrential downpour. Several things were soaked and subsequently ruined.)

The gallery manager probably already knows, but your next step is to call PakMail (505 989-7380). We’ll give you a free quote then pick it up, package it properly and arrange transport with a shipper. In some cases we even do our own delivery, even out of state.

You probably don’t need us to tell you, but it is worth spending the money to have someone like PakMail take care of everything for you https://weshipsantafe.com/art-bronze-packing-shipping/. We have been packing art for shipping for decades and will ensure your precious piece of art is properly protected. (That was a lot of P’s wasn’t it?)

We just don’t recommend you try to pack a painting yourself. You probably spent a lot of money for your favorite new artwork, so it’s worth spending a little bit to make sure it gets home in one piece.

Then it goes on it’s merry way to you, with full-value coverage, of course. Sadly, we don’t offer picture hanging services once the package arrives at your home.

PakMail is the Preferred Shipper for the Native Treasures Art Market

May 20, 2019 by shipsafe

Indian Market Art ShippingArt aficionados probably have May 25 and 26, 2019 highlighted on their calendars—and for good reason. As most fans of artwork know quite well, this is the weekend of the annual Native Treasures Art Market.

Now in its 15th year, the Native Treasures Art Market is typically held over Memorial Day weekend in Santa Fe (1). This year’s event at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center will feature over 200 of the most prominent Native American artists representing Tribes and Pueblos from across the country.

The talented artisans will have a wide variety of their unique artwork for sale at the event, including pottery, paintings, baskets, sculptures, textiles, jewelry and more.

Got Artwork? We Can Help!

At PakMail, we are proud to be a shipper for the Native Treasures Art Market. We know that many people come in from out of town to attend this very special event, and they probably do not have room in their luggage for a large piece of artwork. In addition, even if they have it wrapped for the plane, it can be worrisome to watch a precious painting or delicate piece of pottery loaded onto the airplane.

We also understand that locals love the Art Market, and may want to purchase a birthday, Father’s Day, graduation or wedding gift for loved ones who live in other states at the event.

No matter what your shipping needs are or where you need your new artwork to go, the friendly team at PakMail is ready and able to help.

Rest Assured, We Know How to Handle Artwork

For years, we have provided packing and shipping services to artists, galleries, retail stores, museums, and auction houses. We know what it takes to carefully wrap delicate and one-of-a-kind pieces of art, placing them inside boxes that are well-insulated and filled with the right types of packing material.

So whether you have a huge painting that needs to be sent to your home in Arizona, or a large bronze sculpture that you want to send to your Dad in New York, we would be more than happy to assist. Our “white glove blanket-wrapped” services including delivery by high-value specialists will allow you to rest assured that your new piece of artwork will arrive safe and sound at your home or the home of your loved one.

At Pak Mail, we also know that unique works of art do not often come in standard shapes and sizes. As a result, we are able to design and create one-of-a-kind wood crates that are made to fit your new piece of art. Like the rest of our shipping boxes, our custom crates will be filled with the right kind of packing materials for the specific type of artwork; this will allow the painting, textile, basket or pottery to stay safe and secure during shipping. For extra stability, we can also provide pallets that will keep the artwork stable during shipping.

We look forward to working with our valued customers during and after the Native Treasures Art Market. As art fans ourselves, we know how many beautiful pieces will be for sale, and we are eager to help these unique works of art to safely get to their new homes.

Best Way to Ship Fragile Items in Santa Fe, NM

May 5, 2019 by shipsafe

Pak Mail Shipping and Packaging Santa Fe New Mexico

Moving fragile items from one place to the other always causes stress, and it can increases tenfold when the fragile item to be shipped is a gift. No one wants to send or receive a broken gift item, therefore many people tend to steer away from the idea.

However, with proper packing techniques and expert shipping services (that’s us!), you can safely send a fragile gift to any destination without worry. That being said, there are several dos and don’t’s that you should keep in your mind when shipping fragile items.

Choose the Perfect-Sized Box

For any fragile or brittle item, it is important to pick the right size box for your shipment. The box should be well-fitted so that the objects can’t shift or hit each other during transit. It is also important that the items not be touching each other, and the box should provide enough space between each item to place some sort of cushioning material.

Position The Items Properly

Another important aspect of packing fragile items is their position within the box. For instance, glassware with wide openings should be placed upside down, while any brittle object should be thoroughly wrapped and laid flat in the box to avoid breakage. Items placed in random positions are more likely to be damaged during shipment.

Cushioning is Important

When packing fragile gift items, make sure you are using proper cushioning to offset any stress or shock they may endure during their journey to the recipient’s address. There are several cushioning elements that you can choose from to best suit your particular items needs.

  • Bubble wrap
  • Foam peanuts
  • Styrofoam fillers
  • Cardboard pieces
  • Cloth
  • Sleeves

Shipping Insurance

Consider shipping insurance for fragile gifts you are sending. If the item has a worth greater than $100 most shipping companies will automatically add on coverage, however, you can purchase shipping insurance on an item of any value.
